Jessica took her first dance steps under the tutelage of Barbara Capaldi. With a firm foundation under her feet, she went on to become one of the founding members of Art In Motion Latin Dancers in December 2002. As a core member of Art In Motion, Jessica travelled extensively throughout the US, Canada & Europe performing and teaching workshops.
In November of 2003, Jessica had the opportunity to begin a teaching career with one of the largest dance schools in the Philadelphia area, La Luna Dance Studio. There, she spent the next 11 years perfecting her meticulous style of instruction, for beginner students to advanced. She formed the first all ladies Semi-Pro Team, Las Estrellas, alongside co-director Amber Rawls, and had the chance to perform with World Champion Pro Team Calle Luna Dance Company.
Most recently, Jessica has given up the corporate world to fulfill her dream of owning, and operating, her own dance studio along with her husband, Noel Rodriguez. She is best known for her attention to detail, and proficiency in teaching technique. Her ability to engage dancers of all levels is what makes her one of the most sought after instructors in the Philadelphia area.
Noel is well versed in several forms of Latin dance including New York style Mambo, LA style Salsa, Bachata, Merengue, and Cha Cha Cha, making him an extremely versatile dance instructor. His smooth style, fast footwork, and outrageous turn patterns keep everyone entertained. Former director of Calle Sol, La Luna’s Semi- Pro team, Noel has had the opportunity to take his students from their first steps in a salsa class to their first time on a stage.
In addition to teaching, Noel is the director of World Champion professional dance team, Calle Luna Dance Company. Since 2007, they have travelled worldwide, making them one of the most highly requested performers at any congress. Taking home 1st Place in the Small Teams Division, Noel has pieced together one of the top dance teams in the Philadelphia area.
With his dynamic stage presence, and extensive teaching background, Noel is one of the most recognized, and well-respected, instructors in the industry. Most recently, Noel has embarked on a new journey, as the owner and operator of a new dance studio, alongside his wife Jessica Rodriguez. Together, they plan to bring a new take to an old classic.
She found a home with Calle Luna Dance Company in 2008 and is now the company's co-director. With Calle Luna dance company she has performed, taught, and won many competitions around the world. They currently hold the title of Global Salsa Champions in the small teams division, which was won at the World Salsa Summit in Miami, FL in February 2014. The Ladies of Calle Luna, under the direction of Amber, also won the title Global Salsa Champions in the all ladies division in 2013, amongst other distinguished awards. She also co-directed and trained a semi-pro all ladies salsa styling team based out of La Luna Dance Studio called ‘Las Estrellas’. Amber will now co-direct the new semi-pro all ladies salsa styling team representing AlgoRythym Dance Studio.
In 2009, Amber got hired; and continues, as a full time dance teacher for the School District of Philadelphia. Receiving her Vocational Teaching Certificate from Temple University allows her to share her knowledge and passion by teaching children between 6th and 12th grades different genres of dance, dance vocabulary, and dance theory. Some highlights thus far, of her time as a teacher for the school district, includes coaching cheerleading teams-one of which placed 5th at the 2012 cheer competition, a pep squad, and currently an after school dance team.
Amber's powerful performances, technique, experience, personality, and attention to detail, have made her a highly sought after instructor. She continues to teach part-time at La Luna Dance Studio located in Bensalem, while being beyond excited to bring her talent to New Jersey for the first time as an instructor at the brand new AlgoRythym Dance Studio located in Mt. Laurel.
As busy as her schedule is, Amber still manages to find time to train and perfect the skill she loves so much as she is currently preparing for upcoming performances and competitions worldwide.
